An overview of recent advances in polymer composites with improved <scp>UV</scp>‐shielding properties

Abstract Owing to their competitive price, ease of processability, and rust resistance, polymers are the most extensively used materials in everyday life. However, consistent exposure ultraviolet (UV) radiation can lead degradation discoloration polymeric materials. Various polymer composites containing inorganic organic nanoparticles (NPs) have been developed improve UV‐shielding properties neat polymers. NPs prone photocatalytic processes, leading further chain degradation. To overcome this challenge, used; however, they easily agglomerate, decreasing performance composites. Herein, we critically report fundamentals mechanism synthesis methods, surface modification, characterization important NPs. We then summarize various processing techniques disperse matrices obtain with improved properties.
